Giakoumakis Departs for Japan

10th Summer Signing for Celtic

Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce that it has made its 10th signing of the summer, bringing in defender Osaze Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday. The 21-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Scottish champions.

Urhoghide is a versatile defender who can play at center-back or left-back. He has made over 100 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday and was a key member of the team that won promotion to the Championship last season.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou said: "Osaze is a young, talented defender with a bright future. He is a strong and physical player who is comfortable on the ball. We are delighted to have him join us and we believe he has the potential to be a key player for us."

Celtic have also agreed to sell striker Giorgos Giakoumakis to Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds. The fee is believed to be in the region of £3 million.

Celtic signed Giakoumakis from Dutch side VVV-Venlo last summer, and the 27-year-old scored 17 goals in 29 appearances for the club.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou said: "Giorgos has been a great servant to Celtic and we wish him well in the future. He is a top-class striker and we thank him for his contribution to the club."

Conclusion

Celtic's summer transfer business has been impressive, with the club adding 10 new players to its squad. The signings are a mix of youth and experience, and they should help Celtic challenge for the title this season.
