LOS ANGELES, July 16 (Reuters) - Second-half substitute Santiago Giménez scored with two minutes left to give Mexico a 1-0 win over Panama in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final on Sunday.

Giménez came off the bench in the 85th minute and scored the winning goal in the 88th minute, running onto a through ball and slotting it past Panama goalkeeper Luis Mejía.

The victory gave Mexico its record ninth Gold Cup title, extending its lead over the United States, which has won seven titles.
